Iceland December 2024

Short days, ethereal light, frigid landscape

Winter in Iceland is magical and mysterious. The sky, when visible, becomes a persistent fairytale of pink and blue—dawn and dusk existing at once. The landscape is frigid yet pristine under snow, while the wind steals your breath as it sweeps across the land. Winter may be dark and cold, but Icelanders—descendants of Nordic lore and Vikings—know how to bring light and warmth into every window and corner. And the aurora borealis, if you’re lucky enough to find her, illuminates the night sky.
